How to become a Police Officer
Recruitment Process ExplainedApplication Requirements
The Application will determine your eligiblity in becoming a Police Officer. You must pass all requirements and fill out the required information. A representative from Field Training Operations will review your Application within 24 hours. You should not attempt to contact anyone to review your Application.
Minimum Requirements
You must be between 18 and 63 years old, and have been a Citizen of San Andreas for atleast 5 Years.
Your Character's date of birth must be correct. You must have your nation set to San Andreas and have atleast 60 Playing Hours.
You must be able to write and speak english fluently, and your resume must be atleast 100 words in length.
You will also need a Microphone and Teamspeak installed. Use the word count tool to check your resume.
You must not have been charged with any crime in the past week or have an excessive criminal record.
Excessive is determined from your Crimes x 8 = Minimum Playing Hours Required.
You must not have been involved with Gangs and/or Organised Crime.
Do not mention Gangs or Organized Crime in your Resume.
Pending Interview
If your Application is accepted, You will be required to attend an Interview at the Police HQ in Pershing Square. You must be dressed appropriately and not bring any weapons or narcotics with you. When you arrive, simply wait in the lobby and someone should be with you shortly. You will be required to present some ID to confirm who you are, followed by a frisk to ensure you comply with the Interview requirements. You'll then be led into a small room where the Interview will take place. There will be some simple questions to assess your reasons for applying, skills and qualifications, and your career goals. Lastly, there will be a test on some general locations around Los Santos.
You must be in the Waiting Room in TeamSpeak. Only then will someone PM you and asked to come to the Police HQ in Pershing Square. Otherwise, You are free to do other activities until you are contacted. All the in-character questions will be asked in-game as part of your roleplay testing and general english writing skills. The out-of-character questions will be asked in TeamSpeak to test your speaking skills. Lastly, the locations test will test how well you know Los Santos.
Pending Education
If you pass your Interview, then the next phase is an Education Class at the Police HQ in Pershing Square. An Instuctor will explain to you the important information you must know before you become a Cadet. Things such as what uniform to wear, what equipment to take, and what you can do as a Police Officer. As a Cadet, you will be expected to revise further in preparation for becoming a Police Officer.
The first part begins in-game with a tour of the building, the garage area, reassignment procedures, towing and impounding. Then, you'll be led back inside to the classroom where you'll be told the important policies and procedures to know as a Cadet.
Pending Training
If you pass your Education, You will be invited to a Training session. You'll meet at the Police HQ again but will go out to another location. You'll be shown various procedures like how to do a Traffic Stop. You may be given an opportunity to swap roles and repeat the procedure yourself, or simply repeat back what an Instructor has said to ensure you are paying attention.
This is usually the most fun phase. You'll be playing the role of the Civilian or Suspect in most scenarios. But, your Instructor will be explaining each step through TeamSpeak.
Cadet Experience
If you pass your Training, You will have two weeks to spend at least 15 hours on duty to gain some experience and put your training to the test. This time can be spent riding along with an Officer, working at the Headquarters or towing and impounding vehicles.
Once you recieve your invitation, You must take a new /STATS screenshot with today's date and /TIME to mark the beginning of your experience phase. Once you've gained the additional 15 playing hours, post a Cadet Patrol Report to request your Officer Exam.
Pending Officer Exam
Your Officer Exam is designed to see how well you would do on your own. You will be given a few situations in which a Police Officer may encounter on patrol such as conducting a traffic stop, or chasing after a suspect and making an arrest. If you pass, you will become a Police Officer. If you fail, You will have to wait another three days to revise your mistakes and then you can try again.
If you fail your Officer Exam, You must simply wait three days before re-taking the Officer Exam. If you fail more than twice, you will be removed as a Cadet and must wait two weeks to reapply. If you pass, You will be promoted to Officer.
